Velma Barnwell Obituary

Velma D. Barnwell, 89, of East Springfield, passed away Wednesday morning, November 6, 2024. She was born July 25, 1935 in New Brighton, PA, the daughter of Virgil and Yetta (Brookhart) Trimble.

Velma worked for Weber Electric in accounts payable for many years and after her retirement she worked for a few years at Pulakos Chocolate to keep busy. She enjoyed walking, flowers, jewelry, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, watching movies on the Hallmark channel, and collecting porcelain angels.

Survivors include her son Victor (Christy) Fickes of Oakland and daughter Karen (Ed) Marcy of East Springfield, PA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Patricia Theiss of FL and brothers Donald and James Trimble, both of AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Joanne Brewer, Margaret Voelkel and Helen Polk.

Private graveside services will be held in Springfield Cemetery.
