Wallace K. Newell, Jr. 80, of Conneaut, passed away peacefully at his niece Michele’s home surrounded by family, Wednesday, September 27, 2023. He was born November 30, 1942 in Conneaut, the son of Wallace and Bernice (Loomis) Newell, Sr.
Wallace enlisted in the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, he returned home working as a laborer for Andover Industries and MFG. He also worked at a tomato picking plant when he lived in Florida.
He enjoyed playing cards, feeding the birds, watching movies, reading the newspaper, collecting the mail when he resided at the Harrington Care Home, loved his cats, and loved to travel countryside.
Survivors include his sister Sandy Georgia of Monroe Twp, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Betty Daughtry and Elaine Harrington-Stuntz; and brother Clyde Newell.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with Rev. Russ Ham officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, with military honors conducted by the American Legion Cowle Post #151.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, October 2, 2023 at the funeral home.
