Warren “Smitty” or “Whitey” R. Smith, 83, of Monroe Township, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, January 23, 2026. He was born on December 1, 1942, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, the son of Warren H. Smith and Naomi (Turner) Smith.
Warren worked as a heavy equipment operator for Elcan Metal until the late 1980s. He was a devoted family man who deeply cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as his beloved dogs, Minnie and Mickey. In his free time, he enjoyed motorcycles, working on cars, tinkering in the garage, and especially had a lifelong love for old cars.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Doris (Tew) Smith, whom he married on August 26, 1964; his sons, Tim Smith, Rick (Becky) Smith, Sr., and Jim Smith, all of Conneaut; his grandchildren, Cassandra, Mikey, Carmela, Carol, Richard Jr., Brian, and Travis; twelve great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Kay (Joe) Dibert of Bedford, PA, Connie Kirschbaum of Delmont, PA, and Lois (Wes) Bowser of Syracuse, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Steven Smith; and his brother, Donald Smith.
Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 PM, Saturday, January 31,2026 at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut with the memorial service to follow at 4:00 PM.
