Warren O. Young, 77, of Wildwood, FL, formerly of Conneaut, OH and Erie, PA, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Leesburg Regional Medical Center in Leesburg, FL. He was born May 25, 1943 in Shamokin, PA, the son of George and A. Maud (Owen) Young.
As a young child, Warren moved to Conneaut, graduating from Conneaut High School in 1961. He attended Kent State where he earned his bachelor’s degree and then received his master’s in education from Edinboro University. He was a career-long teacher at Rowe Jr High/Middle School until his retirement in 1997.
Throughout the years, he enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, bowling, tennis, golfing, and anything regarding history. He was a member of the Evergreen Lodge #222 in Conneaut for over 50 years. After years of living in the Northeast, he and his wife Cindy opted for the warmer climate and moved to Wildwood, FL in 2019. Warren was a friend of Bill W. for 34 years.
Survivors include his wife Cindy (Ott) Young, whom he married October 29, 1999; his daughters Lisa (Mark) Volchko of Lake Helen, FL, and Sarah (Keith) Sherman of Conneaut, OH; his granddaughters Ashlyn and Kylee Sherman of Conneaut; stepchildren Erica Blasic of Winston Salem, NC and Barry Blasic (Heidi Karash) of North East, PA; step-grandchildren Mallory Prindle, Braeden, Ivy, and Gavin Blasic; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
