Wayne G Jewell

Wayne G. Jewell, 81, of Saybrook, OH passed away September 6, 2025 at Hillcrest Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born May 18, 1944 in Union City, PA, the son of Victor and May (Morton) Jewell.

He was a graduate of Union City High School and earned his associate’s degree in industrial engineering from Kent State University. He retired from Emsco.

Wayne served our country proudly with the United States Marine Corps from 1963-1967 as a Corporal, serving in Vietnam, the Mediterranean, Santo Domingo, and was a combat engineer in the Caribbean for training.

He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Moose Lodge 472, Moose Riders, ABATE and life member of the DAV, VFW and American Legion where he had been a past Commander of Post #494 in Girard, PA. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and going on poker runs, frequenting the casino, bus trips, playing bingo, helping with different little leagues, being with his dogs and cats, doing puzzles, Walmart runs, but most of all, spending time with his family.

Survivors include his beloved wife Carol (Dennis) Jewell whom he married July 5, 2002; daughters Stephanie (Ed) Gray of AL, Jennifer “Fred” (Gary) Howland of Kingsville, Michelle (Russell) Thomas of N. Kingsville, and Debbie (Mark) Wentworth of N. Kingsville; sons Daniel Jewell of FL, Denver Jewell of AL, and Stacey (Stacy) Jewell of Oakfield, TN; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brother George Jewell of Columbus, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers John and Richard Jewell; and his sister Joyce Jewell.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut. Burial will follow in Kelloggsville Cemetery, Monroe Twp, OH, with military honors.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM until the time of the service at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
