William E. Boyd, Jr., 77, of Conneaut, passed away Monday, December 16, 2019 at UH Conneaut Medical Center. He was born June 15, 1942 in Euclid, OH, and was the son of William and Florence (Foster) Boyd, Sr.
After high school graduation, William went into the Army Reserves. He attended the Mechanical Engineering School in Mentor and received his Associates degree, worked for ANE Trucking, and was a truck driver for many years. William owned Molded Plastic Company making show case cases, and ran a half-way house.
He was a member of the Church of God, and attended AA, he was very proud of his 17 years of sobriety. He enjoyed working on vans back in the 70’s. He had a heart of gold and was a very giving person. William was sure to attend every one of his grandsons sporting events.
A kind and caring man, he was the person who was always there for all in need and would do anything to help someone. Bill devoted his life to his wife and family.
Survivors include his wife Leslie (DeLong) French, whom he married August 2, 2002; his children Michele Koston, Angela Major, John French, and Renee Cruz; his grandchildren Nathan Koston, Alaina Koston, Alicia Major, Naomi Cruz, Louie Soto, Nadia Cruz, Sophia French, Savanna French, and J.T. French.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson Alex French.
Memorial service will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 23, 2020 at the Church of God, 5327 Center Rd. (St. Rt. 7,) Conneaut, with Pastor Carson Robson officiating.
