William Ingersoll Obituary

William A. “Bear” Ingersoll, 73, of Conneaut, passed away Monday morning, October 17, 2022 at The Villa at the Lake. He was born January 10, 1949 in Conneaut, the son of Clifford and Edith (Hopkins) Ingersoll.

Bear graduated from Conneaut High School and attended Lorain Co. Community College. He served in the Merchant Marines and worked for the Conneaut Police Department and Reactive Metals, Inc. (RMI.) Up until his retirement, Bear worked for Sidley Concrete as a truck driver.  

He enjoyed hunting, helping and hanging out with his buddies at Snug Harbor Bait Shop, every day, at ridiculously early hours. He also enjoyed attending the annual Easy Riders Bike Rally in Chillicothe, OH and attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Conneaut #472.

Survivors include his children Dr. Christopher (Mary) Ingersoll, of Orlando, FL, Kelly (Chuck) Anthony, Keith (Sheree Bittner) Ingersoll, Karen Picard, all of Conneaut, and Katherine (Greg) Simmons of Geneva; grandchildren Kayla (Nick Taucher) Ingersoll, of Oakton, VA, Megan (Bradley) Webber, of McFarland, WI, Tanner Ingersoll, of Grand Rapids, MI, Thomas (Ray Moon) Ingersoll, of Toledo, Ryan Picard, of Conneaut, Luke Simmons, and Hudson Simmons, both of Geneva; great-grandchildren Lucas Picard, and Nolan Webber; and his brother Howard (Patty Finn) Ingersoll  of Georgetown, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Private family services will be observed and officiated by Rev. Joshua Krenz of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life to be held from 3:00-6:00 PM, Sunday, October 23, 2022 at the Loyal Order of the Moose Conneaut #472, 280 Park Ave., Conneaut.

Contributions may be made to the CJD Foundation or Hospice of the Western Reserve. Envelopes will be available at Moose and also the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty ST., Conneaut, which is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
