William S. "Bill" Laird

Mr. William S. (Bill) Laird of Lyndhurst died August 7, 2020 age 90, at Altercare in Mayfield.  Bill was a 1948 graduate of Conneaut High School and a US Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving on the USS Walker, DDE517.  He was a long time member of VFW Post 7536 in Lyndhurst.  Bill was employed as a Principal Electrical Engineer at Philips Healthcare (formerly Picker International) in Highland Heights, retiring in 1994.  He was a long time member of Lyndhurst Community Presbyterian Church.  Bill enjoyed golfing and watching the Cleveland Indians, he and his wife Joyce traveled extensively through the US after retirement and also wintered in Avon Park FL for many years. 

Bill is survived by his stepsons Frederick Franklin (Laurel) and Carl Franklin (Linda), by his sons Jeffrey Laird (Melodie) and Jason Laird, by his brother John Scott Laird, and by 8 grandchildren.  

Bill was preceded in death by his wife Joanne (McKee) Laird in 1968 and by his wife Joyce (Keyster) Laird in 2018, and by his brothers Howard Duane Laird, Robert Laird, and Henry James Laird. 

Calling hours will be Friday July 23, 2021 from 5 to 7 PM at Fioritto Funeral Home, 5236 Mayfield Road in Lyndhurst.  Inurnment will be Saturday July 24, 2021at 10:00 AM at Glenwood Cemetery, West Main Road, Conneaut with those arrangements handled by Marcy Funeral Home of Conneaut.
