William “Bill” D. McCann 61, of Conneaut, passed away peacefully July 20, 2025 at home surrounded by family. He was born on December 26, 1963 to William F. and Joan (Maus) McCann in Rochester, New York.
During Bill’s school years, he was an honored volunteer Jr. Fireman in West Elmira, NY. He graduated high school and enlisted in the United States Army and later the United States Coast Guard and was honorably discharged from both branches of service.
He worked for RHI as an operator and was an over-the-road truck driver for a brief time, as well as 19 years with Norfolk Southern Railroad.
Bill was raised in the Methodist church and in his free time enjoyed reading Western novels, tinkering in his garage and yard, watching sports especially the New York Giants and the Pittsburgh Steelers, having a cold beverage, but most of all found great joy spending time with his family. He was a truly kind, generous soft-spoken person who would do anything to lend a helping hand.

He was preceded in death by his father William F. McCann and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A Celebration of life will be held at a later date and will be announced by the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, OH which is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
