William “Bill” A. Penniman, 80, of Conneaut, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Erie VA Medical Center, Erie, PA. He was born on November 22, 1945, in Erie, PA, the son of Orlo and Helen (Diehl) Penniman.
Bill graduated high school and enlisted in the United States Navy. Following his honorable discharge from the service he worked at True Temper for a brief time, Conrail RR, Accent Mills Work and retired as the City of Conneaut Cemetery Sexton in 1995.
He was a simple man who enjoyed being home, wood working, tinkering in his garage, helping neighbors and enjoyed snow blowing their sidewalks and drives and was known in the neighborhood as “Mr. Fix It” and most of all being with his family.
Bill is survived by his wife Sonja whom he married March 22, 1969, a son Scott (Melyssa Sprott) of Ashtabula, a son in law Jeffrey Rapose of Pierpont, OH, a half-sister Pam Penniman-Daggott of McKenzie, TN, grandchildren Amber (Mark) Offensend of Ashtabula Township, OH and Devin (Rachell) Rapose of Conneaut, OH, Zachary Penniman of Ashtabula, OH and great grandchildren Markie Offensend III and Rae Lynn, Logan and Ella Rapose.
Preceding him are his parents, daughter Michele Rapose and brother Ronald Penniman.
Keeping with Bill’s wishes, a private burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
