Yoshiko (Matsumoto) McLaughlin

Yoshiko McLaughlin, 90, of Ashtabula, OH, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on February 16, 2023 at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. She was born March 9, 1932 in Osaka, Japan to Suketaro and Saka (Yano) Matsumoto.

She moved to the United States in 1968 when she married Raymond L. McLaughlin. Yoshiko is survived by their only son John McLaughlin of Ashtabula; her adoring grandchildren Talia and Kinsey McLaughlin; and Raymond L. McLaughlin of Ashtabula.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings of Osaka, Japan.

Yoshiko enjoyed spending time with family, as well as traveling, shopping, cooking, and engaging in outdoor sightseeing. Yoshiko was an active member of her Buddhist communities in Cleveland, Ohio, and Erie, Pennsylvania, where she engaged in SGI Buddhist activities.

At Yoshiko’s request there will be no services.

The Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center has been entrusted with her arrangements.
